My New Favourite Coffee Table Designer Pieces!

I love looking everywhere and then finding a few things in the ways of furniture that I have never seen before. These such pieces are just that! I adore them all.

Flotsum & Jetsam Coffee Table from RRP: $3,900.00

Those who follow this blog know my love of recycled wood coffee tables. This one takes the cake! I love the use of different slabs of wood and colours to create an individual texture to each table. This is a sure-fire conversation starter and something you will adore for life!

4foldlow coffee table designed by George Rice for Formtank. RRP: from £490.00

This is a trendy little beauty. Reminds me a lot of the Isamu Noguchi glass coffee table but much more geometrical and updated. I love the idea of this with a graphic rug on the floor… divine.

Table bench chair by Sam Hect. POA

This really appeals to the design-for-the-sake-of-design part of me. This would never work in my home, but would look great for any interior in my “Keep it Simple, Stupid” post.

Ahhhh I am happy I found these treasures, now I must focus on my interior design project: My new living room!

My new couch arrived this week- CHECK

The New Green Colour Crush!

There is something about the colour green. It’s so fresh and inviting!

Living in the CBD of Sydney on Darling Harbour I am lucky enough to have the view of greenery all around me. However, the power of this colour can also get lost against the dominating greys of the cement building which enclose most of the city skyline. What can you do? Well after finding these amazing images I think the best solution is incorporating this fantastic colour into your living areas. The freshness of this unexpected hue will really put you in a great frame of mind when you wake up!

I love those grand drum garden stools! They have them everywhere at the moment! I’m not a fan of the matchy-matchy in this image though as I would have went from perhaps a dark purple version of the stool available at Matt Blatt

Grand Drum in Colour from Matt Blatt. RRP: $165.00

or perhaps something even more gorgeous like this:

Jenaveve Floral Birds Sage from Kelani Fabrics. RRP: $33.00 per meter.

I’m digging this print from Kelani Fabrics to work as an occasional cushion on a nice big emerald green armchair. 🙂

What do you think about green people??? !!

Fresh and Open Living Spaces.

You know that feeling when you have just started a holiday… or just went for a long walk on a beautiful day… had a beautiful dinner out… ah relaxation. This is the type of feeling I have been chasing to replicate in my own home. A fresh looking, open space which is pleasing to the eye but ultimately relaxing.

These images are my inspiration, I can feel the relaxation breeze approaching…. ahhh.

The print on those armchairs is simply stunning!

This would be my dream. The colours all work well together against the tranquil grey lounge suite. That pistachio green throw is lovely too, looks like cashmere.

Beautiful- The colours are very rich.

Don’t you just want to crawl into that bed?

Seems to me that green is a very tranquil, relaxing colour. What do you think? Would a splash of green freshen up your interior?

Where I’d rather be: The Beach!

I love that decorating and beautiful interior design can transport you to a different place, era or even change your mood. With all the terrible weather we have had in Sydney the past few months I am loving the idea of a beachy interior. Looking at these images its easy to imagine yourself lying back and sipping a cocktail whilst listening to the roar of the ocean. I’ve tried to steer clear of the typical beachy style which can sometimes look a bit lazy and ‘shack like’. Hopefully these images inspire you to create your own modernised beachy interior.

Stunning the clean lines of the ocean coloured chairs really works well with the slat lined coffee table. There are touches of the beachy look here but it is mostly a modern interior.

I love this! The rope-work against that old wood veneer wall is fantastic!

Love, but I’m not a fan of that chunky side table between the two armchairs I think a slimmer or perhaps a glass one could have worked better.

Using a natural coloured woven rug is an easy way to create organic texture in a room. Those armchairs are a divine way of introducing a nautical theme into the space without it screaming “THIS IS A BEACH HOUSE!!!”.

This is very nautical, however those cushions are a good example of how something simple can cheapen a space. I’d simplify here and use less cushions and not double up on patterns. It usually looks better to use different prints and patterns in a similar scheme then have them all matching perfectly.

Destination: Morocco

Jewel tones, laid back feel, mixed textures of silk and cane, slices of embossed gold and silver, it all creates the mystical feel of the exotic. I love the Moroccan look. It plays to both my love of colour, and of organic shapes and textures. This is a style that can be thrown into most interiors. You can buy a few pieces such as lovely coloured glasses to jazz up your glassware, or go all out and really create an Moroccan escape.

Moroccan Tea Glasses from Masion Marrakech. $19.95 for 6.

Red Suade Ottoman from Metroscope. RRP: $230.

I love these! Buy a few and stack them, then use them as floor cushions when you have friends over! You can see how inviting they look scattered around on the floor below!

The rich yellows against those pinks! LOVE!

This is proof of the amazing effect that custom upholstery can have! Sometimes it is just worth the money as that ottoman/coffee table is amazing… what do you think?

Mosaic tables and handmade artifacts are also a large part of this style. They are so interesting and more exciting than the ordinary plain black table that many people usually gravitate toward.

120cm Mjannah Green and Beige Dining Table from Metroscope. RRP: $1,200.00

That sofa is amazing…. oh and the rug…. and the screen… ok I love it all!

Jewel coloured cushions!…. go and buy some now! This is such an inexpensive way to transform a space. This room has been influenced by the Moroccan style but is still very modern. Start incorporating now!
