Getting Interior Inspiration from the Catwalk

I often turn to other sources then my  Home Beautifuls and Belle magazines for inspiration. Fashion and Art are two very easy sources of inspiration that you should use to reinterpret into a cohesive look. Fashion is also great for seeing how certain fabrics can work together. Find something you love them recreate it!

Maxwell Sofa in Pearl from La Maison. RRP: $6,999.00

For Calvin Klein lovers think about block colours and simple design. Try to avoid anything to ornate or French looking. Your a minimalist. you hate fussy things and prefer your form with function. I love this style! This sofa from La Maison is excellent quality and quite comfy to sit in as you get lost in its depth. Also try anything from King Furniture or Sydney Side for fabulous entertainment units which are not fussy.

Finn Juhl Model 57 Sofa from Great Dane. RRP: $14,950.00

Seriously! I mean…. seriously what is not to love? This is luxe to a max! If you love this type of style then anything in a classic design with a luxe edge will be yours. Think about vintage chair frames upholstered in black or midnight coloured velvet- perfection. Instead of floor lights that are very high look more for lamps which sit on the floor with interesting shades to play up the shadows cast on the wall.

Kuba Patch Cushion with Shells from Orson and Blake. RRP: $245.00

I completely adore this look! This is how I intend to put a twist on my rather french looking living room. By throwing together some cushions in tribal prints you can create a rather eclectic interior. Don’t think spending $245 on a cushion is justifiable?… Fair enough, I’m with you! Find a great fabric and get the cushions made then sew on some wooden beads or shells yourself for a more expensive look.

Who is your fav designer? Let me know and I’ll find some great furniture pieces which I would buy to re-create the look 🙂
